1. LOCAL 117 COMMUNITY SPONSORSHIPS - APPLY NOW!

Sponsorship applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. Sponsorship award recipients will be announced quarterly at the Local 117 membership meetings. Groups with a direct connection to Local 117 members and/or to organized labor will be given highest priority.

2. LOCAL 117 HIGH SCHOOL INCENTIVE PROGRAM
At Teamsters Local 117, we pride ourselves in our Union education program. This program takes us out into local high schools to educate young people about the history of Unions and the power of a Union contract.
Local 117 members who help organize this program, will receive the following member reward:
- Members will receive up to $100 for providing a contact in a high school which results in a Local 117 Union presentation to a class or career day.
- Members will receive $500 for providing contact with a school which results in two complete classes where the instructor has used the entire class-time for the program.
To access a flyer on the program, click here or, for more information, contact Maria Williams at: 206-441-4860 ext.1253.
3. LOCAL 117 ORGANIZING INCENTIVE PROGRAM
One of our most important priorities at Teamsters Local 117 is to strengthen our Union by bringing in new members. Union organizing creates higher Union density and provides the rights and benefits of Union contracts to more working families.
As a Teamsters Local 117 member, you can earn up to $1000 for organizing your non-union competitors. Your work as a volunteer Union organizer starts with finding a lead in an industry your Union is organizing. A lead is nothing more than a name and phone number of a person working at an unorganized private or public sector employer.
A lead will earn you $50. If your lead results in a successful Union contract, you’ll pocket $1000! For more information, contact the 117 Organizing Department at: 206-441-4860.
4. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Scholarships currently available to members and their families include the 117, Teamsters Retiree Club, Union Plus, Hoffa, and America in Solidarity scholarships. For more information on scholarships, click here.
